I like the bumper sticker that says "Yes, this is my truck- and no, I will not help you move." I feel like that. "Yes, this is my camera, and no, I will not take pictures of your (event)." I understand the thought process, of course... and I have the camera for a reason. I love to capture light of all kinds. It just happens that people are my least favorite subject. I have never found a talent in myself for doing them justice, or capturing what I see in my mind. Some people have that talent, and I am not among their number!
That having been said, I have some shots of my kids that I treasure. And it only took a sum total of 9 days, 13 hours, 43 minutes to capture all the good ones. Add together all the time I've spent wiping snot, breaking up fights, and getting half of a face out of focus? Well, let's not, shall we? I am content to say my photographic talent lies with victims of a more inanimate nature.
